Born 18 June 1805 at Half Moon, Saratoga County, New York.  Baptized 19 March 1837 at Three Mile Bay Baptist Church, Lyme Township, Jefferson County, New York.  Died at 7 AM on 5 February 1883 (age 77 yrs., 7 mo.) in Clayton Township, Jefferson County, New York; interred there 7 February 1883 in Clayton Village Cemetery (lot 114).  Moved to Jefferson County in 1836, first to Lyme Township, where he resided in 1850, and then to Clayton Township, where he resided in 1870 and 1880.  Employed as a farmer.  Was a Deacon of the Clayton Baptist Church.

Hall (b. 24 May 1870/71 in Antwerp Twp, d. there in 1929), daughter of Daniel R. and Mercy (Willard) Hall, on 29 May 1889 and had the following children: (order uncertain)

(Putnam) Selter, and resided at Three Mile Bay, Lyme Township, Jefferson County, New York.  Jonathan was employed as a farmer.  Mary administered the estate of her mother, Clarissa (Steele) Bennett, in Jefferson County Surrogate’s Court. In 1890 Mary and Jonathan resided on the family homestead farm in the Lyme Township, Jefferson County, New York and had the following son:

John Milton Bennett: (photos) Born 18 January 1844 in Lyme Township, Jefferson County, New York.  Baptized 21 February 1874 at the 1st Baptist Church in Clayton, Clayton Township, Jefferson County (also seen: bapt on that date in the Three Mile Bay Baptist Church).  Died 10 February 1919 at home, 2714 Dort Street, Flint Michigan Flint, Genesee County, Michigan; interred there 12 February in Gracelawn Cemetery, Flint, Michigan.  In 1850 John resided in Lyme Township, Jefferson County, New York.  In 1870 and 1880 he resided in near-by Clayton Township.  In 1900 John resided in Bangor Township, Bay County, Michigan.  In 1892 he resided in Bay City, Bay County.

 

John married Harriet "Hattie" Louisa Klock (photos) (b. 16 Sep 1849 in Lyme Twp, bapt. 22 Jun 1872 in the Three Mile Bay Baptist Church, Lyme Twp, d. 13 Oct 1940 at Detroit, Wayne Co., MI; interred 16 Oct in Gracelawn Cemetery, Flint, Genesee Co., MI), daughter of Harvey and Harriet (Yoran) Klock, on 12 July 1866 at Three Mile Bay, Lyme Township, Jefferson County, New York.  Also see paragraph 3.c.(2.(g. of generation 7 of the Klock Annex.  He and Harriet had the following children:

Mary (Jeffreys) Jones, on 3 August 1897 at Bay City, Michigan with Reverend C. H. Irving officiating.  Benjamin was employed as a miner/stationary engineer.  He and Mina had 3 children:

Jun 1850 in Jefferson Co., N.Y., bapt. 8 October 1876 in the Three Mile Bay Baptist Church, d. there 7 May 1899 at Ogdensburg, St. Lawrence County, New York; interred Village of Clayton Cemetery, Clayton, N.Y.), daughter of James and Catherine (Hawn) Marshall, on 8 October 1867 in Jefferson County, New York.  Signed (certified) his parents’ death certificates.  Lyman and Lena had the following children:

Rice: Born 28 November 1914 in Orange Memorial Hospital, Essex County, New Jersey.  Died 5 April 1984 at Rutland Hospital, Rutland, Vermont; interred Brandon, Vermont.  Employed as a school teacher.  Married William A. Duym (b. 19 Oct 1904 in NJ, d. 17 Sep 1987 at home in Castleton, VT; interred Brandon, VT), son of James and Carrie (?) Duym, about 1942.  William was employed as an engineer for the telephone company.  Katherine and William had the following children:

(b. 15 May 1842 in Parish Twp, Oswego Co., NY, d. 21 Feb 1921 at West Monroe, Oswego Co., NY) and Louisa (Smith) MacCallum (b. 25 Jun 1847 at Texas, Mexico Twp, Oswego Co., NY, d. 11 Jul 1923 in Richmond Twp, Oswego Co., NY) on 12 June 1901 in Bryon Township, Shiawassee County, Michigan, with Minister of the Gospel, E. W. Cross officiating.  John was employed a family physician.  Flora met him while visiting her relatives in Parish, New York (perhaps her Aunt Rose E.
